Sistema is a collective of electroacoustic musicians originally formed within the Conservatorio di Milano. Over time, it has evolved into an independent and stable artistic project, establishing itself as one of the most compelling entities in the design and realization of interactive, multimedia, and multimodal events.
Their repertoire traverses a broad spectrum of musical exploration, integrating the latest advancements in computer technologies with contributions from acclaimed international soloists such as violinist Marco Rizzi and principal players from prestigious orchestras like the Filarmonica della Scala.
The collective has performed in distinguished venues, including the Sala Verdi of the Conservatorio di Milano, the Museo del Design for the Società dei Concerti, the Fabbrica del Vapore for the MMT season, Agon for Milano Digital Week, and the Teatro delle Vigne in Lodi.
During Fuorisalone 2024, Sistema curated a series of interactive musical performances in collaboration with Samsung and the Filarmonica della Scala. These performances were integrated into The Amazing Walk, an immersive large-scale sound diffusion system installed in the courtyard of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the Università Statale di Milano, commissioned by Amazon Italy.
In 2023, the collective presented numerous interactive installations across urban and social contexts. Among these, the Suoni di Luce project transformed 12 Cobra lamps by Martinelli Luce into a digitally interconnected musical instrument within the cloister of the Conservatorio di Milano. Additionally, the group enhanced the sonic and expressive potential of prototypes of musical instruments designed by Leonardo da Vinci, reconstructed by researchers from the Leonardo3 Museum, using custom sensor technologies. In 2024, they contributed to the Stramilano race route with Klee, an audiovisual installation by Davide Bardi.
In the field of research, Sistema served as the ensemble-in-residence at the 2024 international conference AudioMostly, organized in collaboration with the Laboratorio di Informatica Musicale at the Università Statale di Milano. The collective curated and premiered new works commissioned from digital artists worldwide, showcasing cutting-edge approaches to music and technology integration.
